Pachira aquatica
Though you might not guess it, money tree is related to hibiscus and cocoa. It comes from swampy areas of Central and South America. In its natural habitat, money tree can grow more than 50 feet tall, but stays much smaller indoors. While it likes warm, humid conditions, it does well in average household conditions, and can be a good alternative for plants like fiddle leaf fig that need more light and are more sensitive to over- or underwatering.
Note: This plant may have some natural degree of toxicity and may cause discomfort or illness if ingested. Additionally, exposure to the sap of this plant may cause discomfort to individuals with a sensitivity to it upon contact.
